Forest Lawn - Cathedral City to
Host Annual Memorial Day Celebration

Please join Forest Lawn on Memorial Day, May 29, 2017 as they honor our Veterans in their annual Memorial Day Service.  It will begin at 10:30 AM in Forest Lawn’s Ramon Chapel, 69855 Ramon Rd, Cathedral City, CA 92234.  The chapel service will feature local dignitaries and clergy, music by the Palm Desert Community Presbyterian Church Choir, a key-note address by Vietnam Veteran Col. (Ret.) Robert Gericke, and a wreath placement by the Cathedral City Fire Department Honor Guard.  The event is an uplifting commemoration and celebration of veterans of all the wars that have fought to keep the United States free and safe throughout its history.

Admission and parking are free. No reserved seating.   

On Tuesday, June 6th @ 6:00pm Dr. Golkoo Morcos will be speaking on mental health in HIV.  The location is Sinatra Auditorium, Desert Regional Medical Center (at Tachevah & Miraleste). A light supper is served at 6:00 PM; program begins at 6:30 PM. ASL provided upon request at least one week prior. Sponsored by Jewish Family Service of the Desert. RSVP is NOT required. A coalition of Coachella Valley-area organizations and leaders are planning a local event in solidarity with the Equality March for Unity and Pride happening nationally in Washington, DC on Sunday, June 11. The Equality March for Unity and Pride – Palm Springs will be a community event, free and open to the public, featuring a community resource fair, rally with speakers, and ending with a march in downtown Palm Springs.

The goal is to send a message at the federal, state, and local level that we are united in our fight against bigotry, discrimination, and hate.

Four days of poetry, art, music and theatre in remembrance of the Stonewall riots. Joshua Tree Stonewall Remembrance happens June 22 - 25 at  Art Queen (61855 Twentynine Palms Highway).

Events reflecting the gay experience include Poetry and book readings, a light hearted talk with film director and actor Guinevere Turner, film director, actor, fashion show, spoken word, art opening live entertainment, live music, dance party, and more

LKA Palm Springs is passionate about creating opportunities for long-term survivors to socialize with friends and one another in an accepting and open environment. Their regular  social events include potlucks, coffee socials, and movie outings.

Monthly Potlucks, Walk Abouts,  Ladies Night Out and Jazz. These are just a few of the activities you could become involved with. How?
