Center Awareness Day & Spirit Day
Presented by CenterLink, the National Association of LGBT Centers, Center Awareness Day is an annual day of awareness promoting the vital services offered by community centers and the central role they play in local communities.
Centers continue to build, unite, and empower the LGBT community by offering services including; social services, mental health counseling, cultural programs, recreational activities, libraries, educational programs, support groups, youth support, elder support, computer access, and care and treatment (just to name a few).
The Center invites you to come see the visual history of our local center on October 19th, which is also Spirit Day! Spirit Day, organized by GLAAD, is a day to speak out against bullying and support LGBTQ youth across the Valley and the nation, by wearing purple.
A director is desperate to find an actress to play the lead in the classic sadomasochistic tale  Venus in Fur . Into the audition walks a vulgar and equally desperate actress with a strange command of the material. As they work through the script, they blur the line between play and reality, entering into an increasingly serious game of submission and domination that only one of them can win. A mysterious, funny, erotic drama that represents yet another departure for the multifaceted David Ives.
